Haryana Installs Real-Time Air Quality Mapping Boards in Schools

To raise environmental awareness, Haryana’s Pollution Control Board has installed real-time air quality display boards in over 200 government schools across Gurugram, Faridabad, and Panipat. The displays show PM2.5, PM10, CO₂, and temperature data using sensors installed on rooftops. Students learn how local activities like burning waste or heavy traffic influence readings. Each school runs an air audit project where students recommend clean-air actions for their neighborhoods. Environmental science has been integrated into the daily morning assembly. Feedback shows increased student engagement and growing family-level conversations about air pollution and sustainability.
